Just hours before its scheduled OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video, Drishyam 3 has hit a major roadblock. The Telugu-dubbed version of the Mohanlal starrer has been temporarily halted following an order from the Madras High Court.
The setback comes as disappointing news for Telugu audiences who were eagerly waiting to stream the highly anticipated crime thriller.
The legal issue arose after Rajkumar Theatre Private Limited approached the court, claiming it holds exclusive Telugu remake and broadcasting rights for the third film in the Drishyam franchise.
According to the company, streaming the Telugu-dubbed version of Drishyam 3 would amount to a violation of its copyright. Based on these claims, the court has granted interim protection until the matter is thoroughly examined and resolved.
Prime Video Cannot Stream Telugu Version for Now
With the dispute still pending, Amazon Prime Video has been restrained from streaming the Telugu-dubbed version on its platform. However, the Drishyam 3 OTT premiere will proceed as scheduled for other languages.
The unexpected legal hurdle has now cast uncertainty over the Telugu OTT release of Drishyam 3, leaving fans waiting for further clarity on when the dubbed version will eventually become available.
